Dependent Day Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA) FBMC
A DCRA is designed to provide for tax savings in paying for dependent day care. Day care expenses must satisfy certain Internal Revenue requirements. Election to enroll in the DCRA is irrevocable for the plan year unless there is an eligible change in family status. The minimum amount for contribution to a DCRA account is $15.00 per month; the maximum is $416.00 ($208.00/month if married, filing separate income tax returns). Any monies remaining in the account at the end of the plan year will be forfeited.
Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA) FBMC
An employee may establish HCRA depositing pre-tax savings dollars into an account. A HCRA account allow you to set aside pre-tax savings dollars to cover eligible health care expenses you incur for yourself and your dependents during the plan year. Your dependents for TexFlex purposes refer to those family members who qualify under IRS guidelines as dependents. They do not have to be enrolled in your health care plan. Eligible expenses include co-payments, eyeglasses, contacts, vision care, hearing care, prescription drugs, dental and orthodontic care, fees to doctors and hospitals and more. Ineligible expenses such as cosmetic surgery are not covered. Any questions on eligible expenses please refer to the administrator FBMC. The dollar election amount may not be changed during the plan year except to increase in connection with an eligible change in family status. The minimum amount for contribution to a HRCA account is $15.00 per month; the maximum is $416.00. Money left in the account at the end of the plan year is forfeited.
