ESOL FAQs


How do I know if I need ESL courses?

If English is not your first language, you may need ESL courses before you will be allowed to take other college courses.  It does not matter how long you have been in the U.S.  If English is not your first language, you will be asked to take some free tests to determine how high your English skills are.

Where do I go for these tests?

You should see an advisor in Building E.  The advisor will give you the form you need to take the tests.  Advisors who work with ESL students include Kenneth Garcia, Terry Rich, Barbara Eckenfels, and Martha Neely.  (Kenneth and Martha also speak Spanish.)
