Directions to NHC
Q: How do I get to Lone Star College-North Harris?A: From South: Take I-45 North, exit Richey Road. Drive East on Richey for approximately 2 miles, go underneath the Hardy Toll Road. As soon as you cross the railroad tracks, turn left (North), go one block to traffic light and turn right. Lone Star College-North Harris will be on your right (approximately ½ mile). From North: Take I-45 South, exit Richey Road. Follow directions above. From Hwy 59: Exit FM 1960, travel West on 1960 for approximately 10 miles, turn left at Aldine-Westfield Rd. After turning left on Aldine-Westfield, proceed to the second traffic signal (this will be at W.W. Thorne), turn right on W.W. Thorne, Lone Star College-North Harris is on the left.

Q: Can I change my address over the phone?
A: No. If you wish to change your address, you can come to the admissions office and fill out an address change form. You will need to show proof of new address if it is in-district.
Q: I've tried using the automated telephone registration, but I'm having some problems. Can I have someone in admissions register me by phone?
A: Yes. Call 281.618.5600 or you may fax.
Q: Can I drop a class by phone?
A: Yes. Call 281.618.5600
Q: When should I register for a CE class?
A: Many classes fill quickly. Please register at least one week prior to the start of a class.
Q: Do I have to pay at the time of registration?
A: Yes, fees must accompany registration. Cash, check, money order, VISA, MasterCard or Discover cards accepted. Checks and money orders must be for exact amount. Mailed registrations may be paid by check, money order, or credit card. Include credit card number, expiration date and signature. Telephone and fax registrations must be paid by credit card. Receipts are mailed for fax registrations by request only.
Q: Are there any special requirements for GED testing?
A: Yes, The General Education Development (GED) program enables a student to prepare for the GED test. Successful passing grades on the GED test allows a student to earn a certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency.
Students registering for GED/Adult Education classes - Basic English, ABE, and GED and the Adult Education/GED centers must be assessed prior to registering for class. ABE and GED students must also complete an orientation prior to starting classes. Please call 281.618.1176 for information on assessment and orientation dates. Absolutely no student will be allowed in any Adult Education class without the required assessment.
Q: Are on campus student services available to Continuing Education students?
A: Yes.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICESLone Star College-North Harris Employment Services offers job placement assistance, computerized job search and listings, phones and fax for job search activities, job search workshops, and a library of up-to-date job search information. Services are offered through the Job Center, Winship 120 or call 281.618.JOBS.
LIBRARY AND LEARNING CENTER Lone Star College-North Harris allows the community open access to the many resources and services available through the
Library and Learning Center. Computers, books, databases, instruction and assistance are enjoyed by members of our community.
