Leadership High School North Houston
Leadership High School is a multi-community based program committed to educating and enhancing the involvement of North Houston eleventh grade students.
What is Leadership High School? Leadership North Houston and Lone Star College System have united to bring a youth leadership program to the North Houston region.
The program offers eleventh grade students in the North Houston region the opportunity to learn more about their community and be trained in leadership skills. Annually, the program will begin in October with a retreat and continue with monthly meetings through April.
Two students will be selected from each participating high school by an application process. Applications may be obtained at your school.
Participating school districts are Humble, Klein, Spring, New Caney, Splendora, Tomball, Cy-Fair and Aldine.
Who should apply?
Those who wish to...
- Develop a fundamental understanding of leadership and the skills manifested in effective leaders
- Identify their personal leadership style
- Develop their personal leadership ability
- Increase their understanding of and their role in the local community
- Learn how to initiate change in the community
- Make new acquaintances from the North Houston region
- Understand the need for positive student leaders in the community
- Make personal contributions to community services
What is the LHS curriculum?
The program is geared to teach personal leadership skills and provide information regarding the needs of the community.
