Associate Degree Nurse Program

Admission Procedures


  • Obtain printable copy of steps for applying to the ADN Program.
  • Completion of all requirements for admission as a full-time student to Lone Star College System.
  • TASP/THEA status must be "Passed" in all three areas (Reading, Writing, & Math) or student must be SSI complete in all 3 areas by some other means (see Advisor or counselor).
  • Completion of the following courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or higher: BIOL 2401, ENGL 1301, and PSYC 2301.

A grade below a C, in any course required in the Associate Degree Nursing degree plan, will not be accepted.
  • Biology courses submitted for program credit must be completed no more than five years prior to application to the nursing program.
  • Print the HESI Testing Ticket and complete the HESI test (math and reading comprehension sections only). The $23 fee must be paid prior to testing. Deadline for completing HESI test is one week prior to application deadline. The HESI test is available to be taken at Lone Star College–Montgomery during the nursing application periods only and must be completed at least one week prior to the application deadline.
  • Fill out the online application and verify that the online score sheet is correct.
  • Submit a completed application packet (signed and dated application and score sheet) to the Nursing Office, B100, no later than March 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. No applications submitted after this date and time will be considered for admission.
After the above have been received, applicants will be ranked for placement into the nursing program in accordance with current guidelines. Please refer to the Selection Process section for details.
