There is a limit to the number of spaces in the Transition Nursing Program. If there are more applicants who meet the admission criteria than space will allow, applicants will be ranked for placement in the class. This ranking for placement will be based on the following:

- Overall grade point average in academic courses related to the degree program.
|
- Points awarded for completion of academic courses in the degree program
|
- HESI Test reading comprehension score

| Candidates apply for admission to the nursing program in the first quarter of the calendar year. Admission criteria and information is given to candidates at the bi-monthly information sessions on how to strengthen their competitive standing. Since applications to the program exceed available openings, the application process is very competitive. The nursing director, nursing counselor, and faculty have found that an open and honest communication with applicants is beneficial in decreasing anxiety and stress. |
