LVN Selection Process


Applicants will be awarded points based on the following criteria:


Complete with a “C” or higher, Biology 2404, or both Biology courses 2401 and 2402. The Biology prerequisite requires a completion date within the past five years. Possible Points: 4
Combined scores of the pre-entrance reading comprehension and math assessment test (HESI) Add total scores and divide by 50. Possible Points: 4
 
Total Possible Points: 8
 
**Applicants who have successfully completed BIOL 2404, BIOL 2401, and BIOL 2402 will receive the highest points of either BIOL 2404 or combined GPA of BIOL 2401 and 2402.

 

 



Letters of acceptance will be mailed to all applicants. A list of alternates will be developed in the event space becomes available in the Vocational Nursing Program.

Those not admitted must reapply to the LVN nursing program. Applications may be picked up within 1 month of notification. No applications will be maintained in the nursing office. If we do not hear from the applicant during that time, the application file will be destroyed.

After the notifications are mailed, the selected applicants are required to attend an orientation session. The dates and times of the orientation sessions will be included in the notification letter.
