LVN Admission Procedures

• Apply to Lone Star College System by obtaining application form from the Admission’s Office, located in Building E104, unless you are already enrolled.
  
  
• Print checklist or obtain a copy from the nursing office in Building B100 and complete.
  
  
• TASP/THEA status must be "Passed" in all three areas (Reading, Writing, Math) or student must be SSI complete in all 3 areas by some other means (see an advisory or counselor).
  
  
• Complete the prerequisite Biology course(s) of Biology 2404 or Biology 2401 and 2402 with a "C" or better in the past 5 years. 
  
  
• Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average in high school or college level courses of 2.0 or greater. In addition Lone Star College System cumulative GPA must be 2.0 or greater.
  
  
• Order an official transcript from ALL colleges attended outside of Lone Star College System. Verify transcripts have been evaluated correctly in the LSCS computer system. You cannot graduate from the program unless official transcripts have been submitted, even if courses do not apply to the nursing program.
  
  
• Submit an official high school transcript or GED score report.
  
  
• Schedule and complete the HESI test (math and reading comprehension sections only). The $23 fee must be paid prior to testing. Print Testing Ticket with complete instructions of how to test. On completion of test, print two copies, one to remain in the Testing Center, which will be forwarded to the nursing office, and one to retain for your records.
  
  
• HESI test must be completed one week prior to application deadline.
  
  
• Submit a completed Vocational Nursing Program application to the nursing office in B100.

• Printed, signed application (from online application).
• Printed, signed scoresheet (from online application).
• High School transcript or GED.
• Complete the prerequisite Biology course with a "C" or better in the past 4 years with no more than 2 enrollments in the course Biology 2404 or Biology 2401 and 2402.
