PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, and implements off-campus student outreach and recruitment. Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plans, coordinates, implements off-campus activities to provide outreach to potential students.
Visits high schools to recruit potential students.
Networks with church and community groups, and businesses, state and local agencies to reach potential students and dissemination of information.
Maintains student recruitment, tracking system, analyzes recruitment data and makes recommendations to the Dean.
Works with counseling center staff in the areas of student tours, advisement, and orientation.
Assists with registration.
Resolves student problems regarding registration, enrollment, etc.
Performs additional job related duties within reason and capabilities as directed by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Education or related area and some experience in marketing, recruiting, or student services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some knowledge of community colleges’ principle, mission, and philosophy. Excellent oral and written communication skills, results-oriented and self-motivated, versatile and flexible person. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work and with a variety of students from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Skilled in the use of computers using word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
EQUIPMENT USED:
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
CONTACTS:
Contact with faculty and staff as necessary to carry out the general duties of the position.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
Job involves working with students, solving routing problems, flexibility, travel, and meeting specific deadlines. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Job duties require little physical effort and few safety precautions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled open area readily accessible to students and college staff.

Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
