PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Coordinates and manages the daily operation of the Assessment Center. Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of processes and procedures essential to deliver a secure and positive testing environment. Supervises staff and assigns duties. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the equipment and tools for assessing the skills and abilities of students. Administers, scores, and interprets tests, and maintains records for faculty and administration. Responsible for extensive interaction with faculty and ongoing analysis of test score validity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop, implement and supervise daily activities and procedures for the center.
Supervise, hire, train and evaluate center personnel.
Creates and implements processes and procedures for testing activities outside of the center.
Implement, maintain, and trouble shoot all software and technology for testing. Consults service personnel and providers as needed.
Market the Assessment Center to faculty, students and colleges and organizations.
Develop and maintain database and ongoing tracking system for students to provide reports and data.
Independently solve testing problems regarding computer difficulties during testing, misplaced tests, cheating, and accommodation of special needs.
Communicates effectively with other District personnel at all levels, serves as a liaison to local high school personnel and the community.
Assist, support and communicate effectively within, and outside district to ensure continuity and efficiency in the testing process.
Create and maintain training and office procedures manual.
Create and implement a feedback system for faculty and students. Report on findings.
Interpret test results, provide guidance to students and make appropriate referrals.
Develop and implement resources and processes to accommodate the special needs population.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or related field. Three + years work related experience. Supervisory, organizational, interpersonal skills required for coordinating services with staff and faculty required. Customer service experience needed for helping students, staff and faculty. Standardized testing experience along with knowledge of statistics. Experience and familiarity with community college environment important.
EQUIPMENT USED:
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
CONTACTS:
Contact with faculty and staff as necessary to carry out the general duties of the position.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
Job involves attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must possess the ability to coordinate the daily operation of the Assessment Center.

Work is performed primarily in a lab environment with computers.
