Coordinator I, Evening & Weekend

JOB TITLE: Coordinator I, Evening & Weekend FLSA: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: As Assigned GRADE: B23
REPORTS TO: Director, Center

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for oversight of Center operations during evening and weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate operational activities during evening and weekend hours including admissions, academic advising, registration, student services and business office services.

  • Provide faculty and staff with required assistance including instructional needs, equipment, supplies, labs, etc.

  • Oversee security of building including securing classrooms and labs, vehicle registration, safety and emergency programs, lock building each evening, unlock on Saturdays.

  • Resolve conflicts that arise during evening and weekends including room conflicts, lab conflicts and faculty/student/public conflicts. Involve security when necessary.

  • Responsible for emergencies, including contacting appropriate administrators when emergency situation arise such as weather related or security related emergencies.

  • Coordinate CE programs including registration, business office, class rolls, certificates.

  • Maintain phone message system, and emergency contact systems as well as maintains and updating Evening/Weekend Handbook.

  • Process evening and Saturday revenue deposits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • High School diploma.
  • Five years experience in administrative support.
  • Three + years in coordination/supervision of administrative functions.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree.

EQUIPMENT USED:

PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment.

CONTACTS:

Contact with faculty, staff, and students as necessary to carry out the general duties of the position.

COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:

Employee must be detail oriented. Ability to handle emergency situations as the evening administrator in charge. Good organizational skills combined with effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and prioritize workloads.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
