PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Provides the initial contact for anyone entering or calling the Assessment Center. Directs work of part-time personnel in the Assessment Center. Responsible for coordinating a comprehensive assessment structure to facilitate out-of-class testing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Establishes and administers procedures of the Assessment Center.

Coordinates Assessment Center planning, development and implementation of programs.

Maintains student/faculty records related to testing; inputs records into Colleague and matches writing samples to students’ tests.

Coordinates with Director for TASP administration.

Facilitates accommodations for special needs testing.

Supervises and schedules Assessment Center part-time personnel.

Coordinates Assessment Center services with College faculty and sister colleges.

Proctors testing for the public.

Creates marketing information on services (brochures/signage).

Administers, schedules and monitors testing for LSC-Online, make-ups, course placement, walk-in TASP and TASP alternatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred. Three to five years work related experience. Prefer experience in administration of tests, knowledge of ADA regulations and experience in working with learning disabled and/or educationally disadvantaged adults. Good oral and written communication skills; enthusiastic and customer service orientation; excellent organizational skills with particular attention to detail; experience in working with the public; good team player with the ability to work independently and take responsibility for decision making; punctual; flexible and able to establish priorities; able to work some evenings and weekends.
EQUIPMENT USED:
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
CONTACTS:
College/District Staff - Contact with administrators, program directors, faculty and staff as necessary to provide or obtain information to carry out the general functions of the position.
External - Contact with various companies and vendors as necessary.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
This position requires excellent people and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and perform work under pressure. Job duties require few safety precautions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled office environment.
