PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Performs non-routine tasks within Accounts Payable/Receivable Department under limited supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Reconciles bank accounts monthly.

Issues stop payments on checks as directed by District.

Prepares and files monthly state and county tax reports for District.

Posts to and maintains District cash receipts journal.

Prepares and audits inter-fund bank transfers.
-
Notifies customers of NSFs and maintains list of violators.

Arranges payments to company credit cards and investigates charge backs.

Supervises junior accounting workers.
-
Obtains meter readings for copier and postage machine at end of month.

Answers non-routine vendor questions and solves non-routine problems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Five years related work experience.
- Word processing, spreadsheet, bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
EQUIPMENT USED:
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
CONTACTS:
Contact with faculty and staff as necessary to carry out the general duties of the position.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
Position requires ability to communicate effectively with vendors and employees to resolve problems and strict attention to detail and accuracy.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office environment.
