PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Performs a variety of routine services and basic maintenance of equipment related to printing and duplication services. Work is performed with little supervision. Performs basic clerical duties as required for assigned activities of the department and performs backup functions on a scheduled basis for switchboard/ receptionist.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Routinely schedule processes and tasks related to ordering supplies such as paper, packaging, and shipping materials.

Logs/files/records data, documents and materials according to established guidelines.

Operates standard equipment, such as: bindery, copiers, cutters, folders, drills, staplers, and shrink-wrap devices.

Establishes and maintains order in specifically assigned areas.

Performs a variety of general clerical duties to support the department, group or division.

Performs backup functions as assigned for tasks such as courier support, receptionist, filing, and typing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
On-the-job training for assigned functions including equipment and organization provided.
Required:
- High School diploma, GED or work experience required.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
- Valid Texas Drivers License
- Clear driving record for positions requiring operation of a vehicle.
- Must be able to read and to write legibly.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of safety precautions for lifting, trip hazards and driving, preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Operates standard equipment based on specifics of the assigned jobs, such as hand trucks and cart receiving materials or delivery of mail. General use of PC, postage meters, scales, document copiers, and general office equipment preferred.
CONTACTS:
Contact with college staff as necessary to carry out the general duties of the position.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
Position requires ability to sequence numerically and alphabetically and to follow instructions and procedures. May require ability to physically lift, load and unload forty (40) pound packages, boxes, crates or other items. Must be able to handle bulky items requiring lifting, loading and unloading. Routine vehicle safety precautions must be observed at all times for positions requiring driving and operating motor vehicles. Lifting safety and tripping safety precautions must be observed as necessary to carry out the duties of this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with limited access by the general public. Some positions require inside and outdoors assignments. Exposure to normal atmospheric conditions, dirt, dust, weather variables, etc.
