PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Primarily performs analytical duties, characterized by examination of components and determination of relationships, requiring the conceptual analysis and synthesis of information and formulation of recommendations. Typical duties include collecting & compiling information, comparing information and making action recommendations to peers, superiors. Responsible for developing information required to support such activities as planning, budgeting, program evaluation, student recruitment/retention, enrollment data, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for data collection, statistical analysis and report development to support college operations with an emphasis on support for instructional programs.
- Develops and maintains master data collection and analysis report calendar, faculty/staff assistance center for curriculum and technology, and applications programming and student tracking systems.
- Coordinates data gathering process associated with district-wide follow-up processes.
- Assists in data production on the effectiveness of college strategic goals and initiatives.
- Maintains archival data libraries.
- Assists with applications and reports on data needs to support new programs development, including labor market, census and employer data fields.
- Develops and maintains training programs for administrators, faculty and staff associated with data collection and analysis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proven ability to produce accurate, detailed analytical reports.
- Must be comfortable with managing multiple tasks and have a deadline focus.
- An extensive knowledge of microcomputer database management systems (MS Access, FoxPro).
Preferred:
- Application knowledge of basic and advanced statistical methods (SPSS and/or SPSSPC), basic programming proficiency.
EQUIPMENT USED:
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, database systems such as Access and FoxPro, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
CONTACTS:
Internal - Contact with faculty and staff as necessary to carry out the general functions of the position.
COMPLEXITY/EFFORT:
Job involves attention to detail, accuracy, and clear, effective oral and written communication skills. Job requires little physical effort and few safety cautions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
