Vision

During the Spring semester of 2003, Lone Star College–Montgomery adopted the following vision statement:

Lone Star College–Montgomery Vision
Lone Star College–Montgomery envisions itself as an institution that

• Focuses on excellence and success in all that we do.
• Understands that learning is always at the center of everything we do.
• Is not afraid to be complex, but seeks to coordinate functions and link complementary “missions” as it serves a diverse set of constituencies and carries out a large variety of activities.
• Is committed to developing the whole person* and equally values learning required for the marketplace and for transfer institutions.
• Fosters a workplace that attracts the very best employees, and provides for the continuing growth and development of all employees.
• Seeks out community needs, shares its talents with our community and is integrally involved in the development of our community.
• Looks to the future and serves as a bridge to the future.
• Values trust, honesty, fairness, open communications, cooperation, diversity, creativity and risk taking, and has a strong sense of community.
• Is upbeat, energetic, and caring in its relationships with others.

*Has solid academic preparation, including a broad general education; competencies necessary to succeed in the work of work; an understanding of his or her place in the world as well as an appreciation for its diversity; and an understanding of what contributes to his or her emotional and physical well being.
