The Office of Institutional Research provides general statistical information about the college. It is important for the reader to be aware that data presented in the publications may differ slightly from statistics found in other college reports. The variances may result from differences in the source of information used, the reporting period covered (semester, annual academic year), or the student base included (credit, noncredit, credit/noncredit combined). For these reasons, the source of the information in each report is cited, along with the date generated, the reporting period and the students included. Trends are tracked using consistent sources for identical time periods and students.

As for any college, we have many questions. Questions such as:

  • Which zip code service areas are the students coming from?
  • Which Independent School Districts are the students coming from?
  • What are the demographics in the Lone Star College–Montgomery Zip Code Service Area?

The Office of Institutional Research has provided documentation of 2003–2004 Zip Code Service Area Analysis and the 2003–2004 High School Penetration Report to answer these questions.

Each semester, the Office of Institutional Research performs an analysis on student enrollment and preferred courses. The 2004 Fall Term Analysis and 2005 Spring Term Analysis are available for your review. The most recent analysis, 2006 Spring Term Analysis, answers questions such as: What are the semester student demographics (age group, ethnicity, and gender)? What are the semester enrollments summary for the registration method, residency, top ten enrollments by High School, top ten enrollments by zip code, top ten course enrollment, students by semester hours, concurrent student enrollment, students in developmental courses, students on financial aid, and first-time students? What was the comparison between Spring 2006 and Spring 2005?

Since the Lone Star College–Montgomery is one of many colleges within Lone Star College System, another question is: How many Lone Star College–Montgomery students attend elsewhere within the Lone Star College System colleges?

At the end of the school year, the Office of Institutional Research provides an analysis and informational document call the “Fact Book”. It represents Lone Star College–Montgomery’s commitment to the community as well as to its students. The 2004-2005 Fact Book contains information such as: Mission and Value Statements, information about the Chancellor, Lone Star College System Board of Trustees, information about the Lone Star College–Montgomery President, organizational charts during 2004-2005, admissions, tuition fees, financial aid, revenues and expenditures, service area, course enrollments, students by semester hours and total contact hours, student demographics, graduates, student activities, personnel, library holding and services, Information Technology services, accreditations and approvals, campus programs and facilities, academic transfer courses, campus maps and directions.
