Second Amendment Academy

2nd Amendment Academy

Focus
Second Amendment Academy is an educational student organization whose focus is toward educating the general public in regards to the safe and proper use of firearms.

We also look at current legislative action with respect to gun owner’s rights and the Constitution. The Academy has had prominent attorneys from the Houston area and the National Rifle Association come in and speak regarding these fundamental rights.

Meetings & Events
Second Amendment Academy meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month during the regular semester calendar.

We usually hold three or four shooting events during the semester.

Every semester, we have Donna Vandermolen, a nationally ranked competitive shooter and former police officer, teach a class directed towards gun safety and self-defense for the women on campus and in the surrounding community.

On April 13, 2005, the Lyceum Committee will have a panel discussion on Gun Owner’s Rights and the 2nd Amendment. The Academy has provided two of the panelists for the event.

There are no fees for anything we do, including the self-defense classes for women.
