Scholarship Awards Ceremony Hosted at Lone Star College-University Center

More than $20,000 in scholarships were awarded to Lone Star College-University Center students on Oct. 30.

Dr. Lawrence Brandyburg, Lone Star College-University Center interim director, welcomed an audience of students, families, and representatives from the six LSC-University Center partnering universities at a special ceremony recognizing scholarship recipients.

Twenty-seven students received scholarships in the amounts of $500 or $1,000 from a variety of donors including the AAAUW-Montgomery Branch, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International-Lambda Lambda Chapter, LSC-University Center Degree Completion, Follett Higher Education Group, Panther Creek Village Association and Sam Houston State University. 

Following the presentation of scholarships, Dr. Donetta Goodall, LSCS vice chancellor for student success, provided congratulatory remarks to the recipients. A reception was held for all in attendance following the conclusion of the ceremony.

LSC-University Center is a partnership of six universities, the Lone Star College System, and the private sector. Its mission is to provide bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, doctorate degrees, and continuing professional studies to more than 1.5 million people in the college district service area. LSC-University Center partners include Prairie View A&M University, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Southern University, University of Houston, and UH-Downtown.

Lone Star College System consists of five colleges, including LSC-CyFair, LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball, six centers and Lone Star College-University Center.
