Chandler Named New Community Outreach Director for LSCS

Deanne Chandler was recently named director of community outreach and recruitment for Lone Star College System. In her new capacity she will be responsible for establishing the newly created office and coordinating system-wide recruitment and outreach community engagement activities.

Prior to LSCS, Chandler most recently served as a program coordinator for inclusiveness and intercultural services at Texas Christian University. At TCU she created and implemented cultural programming for the university, conducted assessments of student programs and statistics and served as a recruiter for minority students. Chandler was selected as chair of the student affairs leadership team, and won outstanding program award from Minority High School during her tenure at TCU.

Chandler has also held positions with Arizona State University and Southern Methodist University in student success and recruitment divisions.

“I am excited about establishing Lone Star College System’s new community outreach and recruitment office,” said Chandler.

 “I look forward to working with dynamic LSCS professionals throughout the system and community to create opportunities that will positively impact the lives of the community and prospective LSCS students,” she said.

Chandler holds a bachelor’s degree from Dillard University and a master’s degree from St. Louis University.

In addition to her position at LSCS, Chandler enjoys reading, coaching youth basketball and volleyball, and spending time with her family.
