Resources Available for LSCS Students in Wake of Hurricane Ike

Article Body
Lone Star College System students may now access a frequently asked questions site to help with issues and information requests in the wake of Hurricane Ike.

“Our goal is to provide as much information and as many resources as possible so that our students can have a successful semester,” said Donetta Goodall, LSCS vice chancellor for student success.

“We will continue to update the site as student questions arise. We are trying to be proactive and anticipate questions students will have, update the list, and get answers out there in every conceivable place students will access. Support services are available and we are working with students to carry them through and over into the next semester,” said Goodall.

Questions regarding campus hours, access to computer labs, dual credit courses, crisis counseling, payment plan extensions, course make-ups, childcare facilities, tuition vouchers, volunteer opportunities and more are available by visiting http://online.lonestar.edu/148684/.

Lone Star College System consists of five colleges, including LSC-CyFair, LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball, six centers and Lone Star College-University Center. With more than 51,000 students in credit classes this fall, LSCS is the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area and third largest community college system in Texas.
