Expert in Non-verbal Communication Kicks Off Fall 2008 Schedule

The Leadership Institute, established by Lone Star College-Montgomery in response to demand from local businesses, presents its third annual Leadership Lunch Series this fall, featuring topics that provide the tools to develop effective supervisors, managers and leaders. The lunch-time certificate series kicks off on Friday, September 19, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and includes lunch for participants.

The first session in the series, Non-Verbal Cultural Differences, features Jan Hargrave, a leading authority in the field of nonverbal communication. Hargrave applies her amazing skills to show participants how to take advantage of the vast world of nonverbal communication. She has been a popular guest on The Maury Povich Show, The Ricki Lake Show, The Gayle King Show, Talk Soup and The Learning Channel. She is presently the CEO of Jan Hargrave and Associates, a Houston-based consulting firm, and continues to provide many of today's leading corporations such as Merrill Lynch, Rockwell, El Paso Energy, Exxon, Chase Manhattan Bank, and NASA with seminars and specialized training.

Other topics in the series, which runs each Friday through November 7, include Generational Communication (9/26), E-mail Communication (10/3), Socio-Economic Communication Issues (10/10), and more. Attendees can register for the whole series (eight sessions for $119) or individual sessions ($26).
