Lone Star College–Montgomery, one of five colleges of the Lone Star College System, is located in Montgomery County. The Campus Police Department is staffed with state certified police officers and security guards, providing 24 hours protection and service. The Police Department is located in building “E”. Each officer is license by the State of Texas, and is given power by the College System under Chapter 51, Sec.51.203 of the State of Texas Education Code, to enforce all laws of the State of Texas and the policies of the Lone Star College System.

The department has a force of 95 sworn police officers, 26 security gurads, and six police dispatchers that works closely with sourrounding agencies to better serve the community.

LSC-Police Department Dispatch Center serves as the primary link between the police and the College community. The police department offer services including such as assisting stranded motorists, providing jump starts, unlocking administrative offices, classrooms and providing escorts for students/employees during hours of darkness or safety reasons. The department services respond in timely manner to crime, medical problems, accidents, fire, etc. The coordination of safety matters includs developing a safety program for emergencies.

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Mission

The Mission of Lone Star College System Police Department is to strive to promote open communication and to achieve excellence in police protection by ensuring safe and secure working and learning environment for everyone.


Objectives

  • To minimize crime by encouraging community involvement in crime prevention efforts, providing proactive patrol coverage of campus, responding quickly to reported incidents and offenses, and conducting through investigations.
  • To provide emergency service and coordinate the development of safety programs for the colleges. The emergency service area includes timely response to medical problems, accidents and fire. The coordination of safety matters includes developing a safety program for emergencies.
  • To provide building security and access control for college facilities so that a safe working and educational environment can be maintained for the student, faculty, staff and visitors.
  • To provide needed college services. These services include duties such as assisting stranded motorists, providing jump starts, unlocking administrative offices and classrooms and provide escorts for students/employees during hours of darkness or safety reasons.
  • To provide adequate training to members of the department to insure they maintain a high level of proficiency to better serve the college community.
