Federal Work Study Employment
Work Study can be awarded to students with need who work on campus and who are paid according to the hours worked. Awards vary based on amount of need. Students awarded Federal Work-Study are not guaranteed a job, and work-study earnings are not paid in advance so they cannot be used to pay the direct costs (tuition, books, etc.) of the semester in which they are awarded.
What types of jobs are available through Work-Study?
Lone Star College–Montgomery has jobs in the:
* Financial Aid Office
* Student Services
* Academic Departments
* Library
Jobs usually consist of :
Filing, answering telephones, running errands, preparing materials for presentations, scheduling appointments, operating office machinery, and other office tasks.
Who is eligible for Work-Study
* You must have applied for financial aid and have need.
* You must have above a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in classes at Lone Star College–Montgomery.
* You must be in good academic standing.
* You must apply for the work-study position through the Financial Aid office at Lone Star College–Montgomery by completing the Work-Study application.
