Sophomore Recital, May 2007
Gwen Rapzoa and Laura Evans perform their sophomore recital with selections from Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, and other notable composers like George Gershwin. These wonderful students studied under Daniel Buchanan and Dr. Satterfield from 2005 until this spring.

Woodlands HS Honors Recital, April 2007
Listen to the First Annual Honors Recital that the Woodlands High School presented the public at Lone Star College–Montgomery in April 2007. Due to technical problems, only the second half wa recorded and our sincere apologies go out to the students who are not recorded. String Ensemble, April 2007

Did you miss the Lone Star College–Montgomery String Ensemble's first concert of the semester? Come listen as they render a delightful set of concertos and symphonies. Headed by Dr. Barbara Rask, the String Ensemble leads with a concerto from Baroque era composer Handel. They also gave a lovely presentation of Barber's Adagio for Strings, which added character to their overall concert. Also included in the performance is a concerto from Bach and a symphony of Mozart's.

Here is Lone Star College–Montgomery's last faculty recital for Spring 2007. Featured exclusively on this inspiring recording is our own Alicia Moore-Chew, who introduces us to Claude Debussey's Quatre Chansons de Jeunesse. Translated into 'Four Early Songs'.

Jazz Ensemble, March 2007
Once again the Lone Star College–Montgomery Jazz Ensemble explodes onto the scene with an exciting program. Included is the mellow track "St. Thomas" from jazz great, Sonny Rollins, who had taken a traditional Caribbean nursery song to form this highly recognizable tune. Closing the second half of this extraordinarily venturous performance is Montgomery's own jazz director, mark Holter, and his arrangement of "Get Out of Town." Enjoy as the jazz combo and orchestra take you from the wolrd of swing into latin jazz. Solo credits: Conrad Kao, Ryan Rubich, Robert Smith, Josh Masters, Mike Williamson, Mike Owen, William Barker, Adaline Cherry, and others.

Jazz Orchestra, March 2007
Take a trip with the Lone Star College–Montgomery Jazz Orchestra to San Jacinto North campus with their GCIC competition. Here, these excellent songs grow from the group's first performance just weeks before, and flourish into a recording masterpiece. The songs include "Boplicity", "Switch in Time", "Sassy Legs", and "Get Out of Town".

In case you missed out on the last student recital, we had various performances ranging from the romantic composer Rachmaninoff to 20th century Quilter. Each piece is unique to it's soloist and deserves due attention. Listen to what our music students have to offer.
