Please consult with a physician prior to exercise to obtain medical clearance.
According to the American Council on Exercise, group exercise is ideally suited for "healthy persons who have no apparent health/physical limitations or special medical needs."
Wellness Center members can participate in Fitness Classes @ the discretion of the instructor.
Most fitness classes are approximately 1-hour sessions.
Class times and formats are subject to change.

Fitness Class Guidelines

Shoes: Please wear proper athletic shoes designed for specific mode of activity. This is highly recommended for safety.

Dress code: No street clothing, you must wear athletic attire.

Food/drinks: No food or drink except water in a closed container is permitted in the Wellness Center.

Age: No one under the age of 18 can use the facility or attend fitness classes unless they are enrolled in a class.

Childcare: The Wellness Center does not offer childcare. If your children accompany you, you will not be permitted to use the facility. However, if you are in need of child care, please visit the LSC-Montgomery Childcare Web site to learn how your children can be tended to while you are in class.

Personal items: The Lone Star College-Montgomery staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All personal items can be put in a locker or kept in class along the back wall. We advise you not to leave valuable items unattended.

Fitness Class Descriptions

Step:
This class will get your heart rate up by performing different choreography moves on a step bench which can be adjusted to different heights.

Step Mix:
The cardio portion of this class will include different choreography moves on a step bench as well as tone and firm major muscle groups using various equipment such as stability ball, weights, tubing, and BOSU.

Step Level 2:
This cardiovascular exercise class is designed for the experienced step exercise participant.

Yoga:
This hatha yoga class incorporates a series of twisting, bending and standing poses to strengthen the body and improve flexibility and balance.

Cardio Mix:
Class consists of a variety of modes and formats of cardiovascular exercise i.e. step, hi/lo, circuit etc. with muscular strength and endurance exercise.

Pilates/Toning:
A workout for conditioning and building strength. Benefits include increased flexibility, coordinattion, balance and agility. The class may include a toning segment using the stability ball, weights and tubing. Please wear athletic shoes.

Toning:
Using equipment such as weights, bands and the exercise ball, this class is designed to tone and firm all the major muscle groups.

Circuit Training:
This class consists of training segments of alternating cardiovascular exercise with muscular strength and endurance exercise.

Core & Balance:
This class incorporates exercise that will help improve abdominal and back strength, coordinatorion, flexibility and balance.

Hi/Lo Impact & Toning:
This class combines a traditional cardio floor aerobic exercise class with toning.
