Probation or Suspension?

Am I on probation or suspension?

Academic Probation

A student will be considered to be on academic probation the second time he earns a semester GPA of less than a 2.0. Students on academic probation are required to complete the following process:

  • Complete the online PASS seminar and assessment.
  • Schedule an appointment with assigned counselor to discuss registration.
  • Bring completed PASS seminar assessment to your scheduled counseling appointment

Please see academic probation appeal guidelines for more information.

Academic Suspension

A student with a continuing history of low academic performance is placed on academic suspension when both the semester GPA and cumulative GPA are below a 2.0. An academic suspension will result in a student being denied enrollment for a minimum of one long semester. A student desiring to appeal a suspension must follow the guidelines stipulated below:

  • Complete the online PASS seminar and assessment.
  • Type and print suspension appeal letter.
  • Schedule an appointment with assigned counselor.
  • Bring printed PASS assessment results and suspension appeal letter to your counseling appointment.
  • If currently taking classes, you must request your grades from your instructors before meeting with a counselor. Use the request for grades sheet form at the bottom of the suspension appeal guidelines.

Please see academic suspension appeal guidelines for more information.
